Freewheeling: Legendary mountain biker Hans Rey inaugurated the concept store at Koramangala.
In a city that loves its cars, it is tough to make cycles cool. And so here is something the cycling — and the non-cycling — community can look forward to. Track and Trail, the bike division of TI Cycles, launched Coffee and Cycles, a first-of-its-kind cycling cafe in Koramangala here on Tuesday.
Legendary mountain biker Hans Rey, who inaugurated the concept store, said the cafe is bound to create a new cycling lifestyle here.
Latest products
The new element of having a cafe in the midst of high-end cycles will expose cycling enthusiasts to the latest products amid coffee and conversation. He also conducted a small workshop for those present.
Coffee and Cycles has a wide range of international bikes such as Bianchi from Italy, Cannondale, Schwinn, GT and Mongoose from United States, besides Montra from TI Cycles, India at prices ranging from Rs.15,000 to Rs. 5 lakh.
There are accessories like the helmets, gloves, headlights, reflector jackets, cycling shoes, glasses and shirts, saddles, cyclo-computers that detect average speed and distance, tyres and tubes, floor pumps, pedometers for direction and so on.
For the benefit of every cyclist, Coffee and Cycles has dedicated a separate space to service cycles of all brands.
Magazines
To help cyclists keep themselves informed, the café stocks Cyclopedia by William Fotheringham, the Bible of its genre, mountain bike magazines and cycle catalogues, apart from news of upcoming rides and cyclothons in the city. The cafe serves snacks such as quiches and hot and cold beverages.
Rajesh Mani, General Manager, Marketing, TI Cycles of India said he chose Bangalore for the debut concept store because of the excellent cycling weather and the superb response of its cycling community.
Coffee and Cycles is open on all days between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. at 4, 5th Main road, K.R. Garden, Opp. NGV Indoor Stadium in Koramangala.
